Eddie Dewayne Smith, the son of Oliver Gray and Margaret Louise (Keith) Smith, was born on May 26, 1953, in Akron, Ohio. He also lived in West Virginia and at a young age, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Eddie attended school in Omaha. Eddie was employed in maintenance and in tree service for the Omaha Park Department. Eddie enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He affectionately called them his “grandbabies”. Eddie passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, Missouri, at the age of 66. Besides his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by brothers, Denny Smith and Rusty Whaley. Survivors include daughter, Maggie (James Clausen) Ramirez, Fairfax, Missouri, two sons, Michael Norman, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Cole Smith, Omaha; grandbabies, Adriana, Alejandra, Alicia Ramirez, all of Fairfax; sister, Sandra Austin, Carter Lake, Iowa, brothers, Mark Whaley, Council Bluffs, Kenny (Flora) Smith, Council Bluffs; sister-in-law, Joyce Smith, Omaha; numerous nieces and nephews.
