Richard L. Carlson

Richard Lee Carlson, age 74, of Council Bluffs, passed away on October 2, 2025, at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital after facing complex health issues.

Rich was born on December 14, 1950, in Fairfax, Missouri. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. A hardworking man, Rich made his career as a heavy equipment mechanic.

A devoted family man, Rich enjoyed camping, fishing, working on welding projects, riding his motorcycle, attending swap meets, and collecting toy tractors. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by his four children: Brenda, Darci, Ray (Terrie), and Rodney (Cheri) Carlson, all of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Glenda (Pat) Earlywine and Deloris “Sis” (Kermit) Daigh; and many cherished friends.
