Donna F. Maddox

Donna Faye Maddox, the daughter of William Donald, Sr., and Mary Margaret (Tallant) Bailey, was born November 23, 1949, in Rock Port, Missouri. She attended high school in Rock Port and Watson, Missouri. She later earned her GED.

On April 19, 1974, Donna was united in marriage to Lester Dale Maddox in Rock Port. They made their home in Phelps City, Missouri, and became the parents of two children, William Charles LeRoy and Matthew Dale. Donna also became bonus mom to Steven Ray and Clifford Virgil. Lester passed away in August of 2001.

Donna was a homemaker, caring for her children. She considered her two sons as her greatest accomplishment. Donna enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, traveling, and going to garage sales. Donna loved going to the casino in White Cloud, Kansas, and spending time with her family. Donna passed away Monday, August 3, 2026, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 76.

Besides her parents and husband, Lester Maddox, Donna was preceded in death by siblings, William “Don” Bailey, Jr. and Mary Ann Avrett. Survivors include children, William Charles LeRoy (Carrie Kelley) Maddox, Hamburg, Iowa, and Matthew Dale (Heather) Maddox, New Strawn, Kansas; stepsons, Steven Ray Maddox, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Clifford Virgil Maddox, Council Bluffs, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; grandpup, Porter; siblings, Betty Cook, Sue Jochim, Edith Peters, Charlie (Judy) Bailey, and Edward Bailey.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 6, 2026, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 5, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.

Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.

Memorials: Rock Port Senior Center for Bingo Nights.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
