Thomas Ray Henson

Thomas Ray Henson, the son of J.C., Jr. and Helen (Riley) Henson, was born October 19, 1957 in Fairfax, Missouri. Tom attended Tarkio Missouri schools and was a member of the class of 1976.

Tom was employed for several area farmers, and, for the last five years, was an over the road truck driver, driving for Gary Henson Trucking, Tarkio, and leased to Scott Melvin Transport, Rock Port, Missouri. Tom enjoyed driving and seeing the areas of the country along his route. He deeply loved his family and friends. He was always willing to go out of his way to lend a helping hand to any family member or friend in need. Tom passed away August 30, 2008, at the age of 50 years.

Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by one niece, Farrah Henson, grandparents, J. C. Sr. (Slim) and Edith Henson, and Howard and Gertrude Riley. Survivors include two brothers, Gary Henson, and his wife, Judy, Tarkio, Tim Henson, and his wife, Debra, Maryville, Missouri, one sister, Linda Henson, Tarkio; one nephew, Jason Henson, three nieces, Terri Willis, Staci Denny, and Amberlee Henson; great nieces and nephews, Payton, Raegan, Chase, Clayton, and Ashlie.

Services: Friday, September 5, 2008,
10:00 am, Assembly of God Church, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Open visitation will begin Thursday, September 4, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio where the family will receive friends 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. that evening.
Memorials: Tom Henson Memorial Fund.
Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
