Erwin Henry Rolf

January 31, 1914 - August 28, 2008

Erwin Henry Rolf, the son of George and Minnie (Broermann) Rolf, was born in rural Westboro, Missouri on January 31, 1914. He attended Morning Sun country school and graduated from Westboro High School in May of 1931.

 

Erwin entered the United States Army and proudly served his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Westboro and began farming.

 

On April 10, 1942, Erwin was united in marriage to Lozie Elizabeth (Kitty) Fisher. They became the parents of two sons. Erwin spent his life farming and also enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator. Kitty passed away September 28, 1998. Erwin passed away August 28, 2008 at Elm Heights Nursing Home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 94 years.

 

Besides his parents, and wife Kitty, Erwin is preceded in death by one son, Steven Rolf, Sr.; one grandson, Steven Rolf, Jr., three brothers, Herbert Rolf, Edwin Rolf and Albert Rolf; one sister, Olga Tiemann.  Erwin is survived by his son, Dale Rolf and his wife Karen, Hope, Idaho, daughter-in-law, Pearl Ashton and her husband Bob, Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

 

Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment: 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 6, 2008, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.
There is no visitation.
Memorials: Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.
Military Rites are under the auspices of Merrill-Smith American Legion Post #32.
Services are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
