Thomas Franklin Roberts, the son of Luther Nelson and Ida Mae (Winstead) Roberts, was born December 22, 1922 in Westboro, Missouri. He attended school at Tarkio, Missouri and Pleasant Mound country school in the Tarkio-Westboro area.
Tom enlisted in the United States Army on January 11, 1943, and proudly served his country during World War II. A highly decorated serviceman, Tom received his honorable discharge on November 4, 1945.
On March 13, 1948, Tom was united in marriage to Betty Jane Hall. They farmed in the Watson and Rock Port, Missouri areas until retirement. They also enjoyed buying and selling antiques from their home, until Betty passed away in 2004. Tom passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port at the age of 87 years.
Besides his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; five brothers, Herman, Orville, Carl, Jim and John and one sister, Alma Shaw.
