Phyllis Lorraine (Christian) Hollister, the daughter of George and Matie (Cooper) Christian, was born March 16, 1921 in Linden, Missouri. She attended Rock Port Schools, graduating in 1938.
On June 26, 1941, Phyllis was united in marriage to Clark A. Hollister. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska and in Rock Port where Phyllis dedicated over 20 years of her life managing the Rock Port Nutrition Center. Phyllis was a member of First Lutheran Church, Rock Port and the Monday Bible Circle. She also taught Sunday school for over 20 years and was very active in the community. Phyllis passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Pleasant View Nursing Home of Rock Port at the age of 89 years.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Clark, who passed away January 7, 1987. Survivors include her son, Jon Hollister; two grandchildren, Robert and Waymon Hollister; sister, June Lynn, all of Rock Port; nephew, Jack Lynn and his wife Deanna, Gretna, Nebraska, niece, Judy McCoy and her husband Floyd, Missouri City, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends.
