Josephine Elizabeth McIntosh

Josephine Elizabeth (Kelly) McIntosh was born March 14, 1916, on a farm northwest of Tarkio, Missouri, the daughter of Patrick J. and Minerva Frances (Gigous) Kelly. Throughout her early years, Josephine attended Tarkio rural schools and worked as a domestic in the Tarkio Community.

On August 8, 1936, Josephine was united in marriage to Paul Erwin McIntosh in Maryville, Missouri. They made their home in the Fairfax, Missouri, Community, and moved to Tarkio in the mid-1970s. For many years, she was employed by the Community Hospital in Fairfax, working as a nurse’s aide and also in the dietary department. Paul passed away December 26, 1980. Josephine continued to reside in Tarkio. She passed away August 6, 2010, at the Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Josephine is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by baby sister, Madeline Kelly, sister, Dorothy (Kelly) Colman and stepfather, Jack Barrett.
