Gerald W. McEnaney, son of Cyril and Cecelia (Broxterman) McEnaney, was born November 29, 1934, in Falls City, Nebraska. He attended country school east of Tarkio, and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1953.
Gerald proudly served his Country during the Korean War in the United States Army from December 9, 1954, to December 8, 1956.
Gerald was united in marriage to Emma Lee Townsend, and they became the parents of two children, Leonard and Jerrone. They were later divorced.
Gerald was a lifetime farmer. He enjoyed planting straight rows of corn, combining and his cows. His greatest enjoyment, however, was his grandkids and family and all their activities. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tarkio, the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio, and was a Voyageur with the 40/8 Voiture #1402 MO. Gerald passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 76 years.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Delores Miller. Survivors include his son, Leonard McEnaney and his wife, Janene, Tarkio; daughter, Jerrone Willoughby and her fiancé, Eric Smith, St. Joseph, Missouri; very special friend and fiancé, Sharon Smith, Fairfax, Missouri; grandchildren, David McEnaney and his wife, Megan, Omaha, Rachel and Denise McEnaney, Tarkio, Sierrah and Marcus Willoughby, St. Joseph; brothers, Richard McEnaney and his friend, Barbara Pierson, Kansas City, Missouri, Derald McEnaney and his friend, Cyndy White, Tarkio, Arthur McEnaney and his friend, Sheila Dougan, St. Joseph, Delbert McEnaney and his wife, Carol, Shenandoah, Iowa, Don McEnaney and his wife, Carolyn, Tarkio, and Leon McEnaney and his wife, Kay, Shenandoah; sisters, Marcie Selkirk and her husband, Pete, Tonawanda, New York, and Anita Foster and her husband, Don, Palmyra, Missouri.
