Donald J. “Corky” Price, the son of Bulah Ray and Carrie Belle (Wooten) Price, was born on February 11, 1931, in Watson, Missouri. Donald attended Star School in the “Star Hollow” area outside of Watson.
Donald was united in marriage to Betty Mae Batson on March 20, 1956. They made their home in the Watson and Westboro, Missouri, areas. During that time, Corky worked as a farm hand for area farmers. They moved to Tarkio in the late 1980’s. Betty passed away September 5, 1999. Donald passed away on October 16, 2011, at the Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 80.
Besides his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by daughter, Rita Sue Morgan; brothers, Bill Price,Willis Price, and Donald Jack Mortimor; stepsister, Ruth Larson; infant siblings; stepmother, Bertha Mortimor; brother-in-law, Charles Smith; sister-in-law, Shirley Kay Price; and niece, Linda Parsons. Survivors include son, Gary E. Price and wife, Sherry, Fairfax, Missouri; daughter, Donna Nolan, Red Oak, Iowa; grandsons, John Hill, Andrew Price,and Garrick Price; granddaughters, Jelyna Price, Kathy Neeman,Megan Duncan, Candy Holloway and Ruby Moellenberndt;sister, Shirley Smith, Rock Port, Missouri; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service and Interment The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Donald J. “Corky” Price Memorial Fund.
