Beverly J. Howell
Beverly June Howell, the daughter of Alfred Russell and Stella Pauline (Price) Howell was born in rural Langdon, Missouri on August 1, 1943. Beverly attended Rock Port, and Fairfax Missouri High Schools, graduating from Forest City High School, Forest City, Missouri, in 1961, where she celebrated her 50 year class reunion this past May. Beverly then attended three years of college at East Central College in Union, Missouri.
In 1973, Beverly was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Wesley Zook, Jr.. They made their home in Rock Port and St. Clair, Missouri. Don passed away in November 1980. Beverly moved to Savannah, Missouri in 1985, where she lived to the present time.
Beverly was employed by East Central College and Quaker Oats in St. Joseph as a computer operator and as a clerk typist in the Child Support Enforcement office in Savannah, where she retired in 2006. She was a member of the Rosendale Christian Church, Rosendale, Missouri and considered it a blessing to be a part of the church family and participate in spiritual needs of the congregation. Beverly was known for her love of animals and regularly made a home for strays. She enjoyed riding horses, reading, and was a hard worker, always staying busy whether at work or home. Her family considered her their hero, who never complained during her long battle with cancer. Beverly passed away with her family by her side, on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Besides her parents and husband Don, Bev was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Lynn and Lloyd Lee Howell; nephew, Terry Fansher and nieces, Penny and Janet Howell. Survivors include her son Michael Scott Howell and his wife Brenda; grandsons, Jacob Cameron and Michael Chase Howell, all of Savannah; siblings, Richard Dean Howell, Rock Port, Shirley Ann Fansher, Maryville, Missouri; Marion Russell Howell and his wife Mary, Oregon, Missouri and Billy Gene Howell and his wife Ingrid, Savannah, sister-in-law, Patty Howell, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
