Nellie E. Piper
Nellie Emma (Griggs) Piper, the daughter of Glenn and Laura Griggs, was born February 20, 1929 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Nellie graduated from Shenandoah High School.
Nellie was united in marriage to Russell Aubrey Archer and they became the parents of three children. Russell preceded her in death. Nellie was united in marriage to Harley Boyer and they became the parents of one son. Harley preceded her in death. Nellie was united in marriage to Robert Lee Piper. Robert preceded her in death.
Nellie was a homemaker and loved animals. She devoted much time to working on her home and was very active in the Rock Port Garden Club. She enjoyed riding the OATS bus with the other ladies in the community.
Besides her parents and husbands, Nellie was preceded in death by one sister, Sonja Ahrens. Survivors include four children, Russell Aubrey Archer, Marvin Leroy Archer, Linda Susan Statton, and Gary Lee Piper; two sisters, Betty Young and her husband, Kirby, Marie Wise and her husband, Gary; three brothers, Dee Griggs, and his wife, Dana, Edward Griggs, and his wife, Becky, and Eldon Griggs, and his wife, Mary; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
