Joan C. Cook
Joan Charlotte Cook, the daughter of Oscar and Nellie Jane (Brown) Wells, was born November 8, 1935, in Tarkio, Missouri. She attended Tarkio schools.
On November 13, 1954, Joan was united in marriage to Harold “Buss” Cook at the Assembly of God Parsonage in Tarkio. They lived in Fairfax, Missouri, for a short time before moving to Tarkio, where she lived to the present time.
Joan was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Northview Manor from 1970-2000, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Tarkio. Buss passed away July 26, 2010. Joan passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at her home in Tarkio at the age of 78.
Besides her parents and husband, Buss, Joan was preceded in death by daughter, Charlotte Cook; great-grandson, Logan Driskell; son-in-law, Steve Campbell; and brother, Lynath Wells. Survivors include daughters, Becky Curran and husband, Stephen, Savannah, Missouri, Ellen Slemp and husband, Terry, Tarkio; twelve grandchildren, Jason and Melanie Campbell, Rachelle Brown, Arius, Darius, Matthew, Marcus and Nene Campbell, T.J. and Dusty Slemp, JoAnna Driskell and Christopher Curran; thirteen great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Jimmy Hodge, Sharlyn Chitwood, Diana Wallace, Kathy, Jackie, Jimmy, Jerry and Rosemary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
