Fern Caroline Ebert

Fern Caroline (Rolf) Ebert, the daughter of Harry and Clara Rolf, was born April 28, 1915, west of Blanchard, Iowa. She graduated from Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri and attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri. After receiving her teaching certificate, she taught in rural Northboro, Iowa schools and Shenandoah Elementary School, Shenandoah, Iowa.

On July 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Lester Ebert. She then retired from teaching and they lived and farmed south of Blanchard in Missouri. She later moved to Shenandoah, where she lived to the present time. They loved traveling the United States and overseas. Fern was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westboro. Lester passed away in 1988. Fern passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at Elm Heights Care Center, Shenandoah, at the age of 99.

Besides her parents and husband, Lester, Fern was preceded in death by her sisters, Darlene Hess and Marjorie Weehler and brother-in-law, James Chester Hess.

Survivors include brother-in-law, Eldon Weehler, Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Gladys Strauch, Maryville, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

11:00 A.M., Monday, September 1, 2014, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Westboro, Missouri.
Interment: St. John’s Cemetery, Westboro.
Open visitation will begin 10:00 A.M., Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri. There is no scheduled family visitation.
