William Jerome (Jerry) Smith, Jr., the son of William Jerome (Bill), Sr. and Martha Marie (Adams) Smith, was born April 23, 1957, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended school in Oscoda, Michigan, and Fairfield, California, graduating in 1975.

In 1983, Jerry was united in marriage to Mary Cook. They were later divorced. Jerry was a lifelong carpenter who served the communities throughout Atchison County, Missouri. He was also a former Boy Scout and loved kids, pets and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Raiders. Jerry passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at his home in Rock Port, Missouri, at the age of 58.

Jerry was preceded in death by brother, Steven Smith. Survivors include parents, William Jerome (Bill), Sr. and Martha Smith, Rock Port; sister, Terri Phillips and husband, Bob, Maryville, Missouri; brother, David Smith and wife, Christine, Norwood Young America, Minnesota; two nieces, Denise Phillips and Amber Cook; six nephews, Chris Phillips and wife, Robbie, David Gavert, Alex Smith, Zach Smith, Clayton Amthor and wife, Jackie, and Cory Amthor; great-nephews, Cameron, Carter and Phoenix Phillips, all of Maryville, and Brayden Amthor, Rock Port; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2015, Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port.
Interment: Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Friday, October 30, 2015, Minter Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Saturday, prior to the service, at Rock Port Baptist Church.
