Richard O. Carroll, the son of Donald Eugene Sr. and Helen Lucille (Sliger) Carroll, was born on October 31, 1950, in Maryville, Missouri. Richard graduated from Redondo Beach High School, Redondo Beach, California in 1968.
On November 4, 1968, Richard entered the United States Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam War as a Quartermaster on the USS New Orleans and USS Valley Forge. Richard received his honorable discharge on November 3, 1974.
Richard was employed in Hotel and Motel Management as a financial auditor in Marina del Rey, California and Prescott, Arizona. In 1989, Richard was employed by the Horse Shoe Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, supervising live table games as a Pit Boss Following his mother’s death in 2007, Richard returned to Rock Port to care for his father where he lived to the present time. Richard enjoyed watching old movies and competing at anything.
Richard passed away, Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the Omaha VA Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 69.
Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Don Jr. Survivors include a host of friends.
The body has been cremated.
Graveside Service and Inurnment: 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no visitation.
