Edward Elvin Campfield, Sr., the son of Ernest Leroy and Virgie Mae (Bent) Campfield, was born August 22, 1930 in Oakwood, Missouri. He graduated from Monroe City High school, Monroe, Missouri in 1948.
On March 11, 1950, Ed was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Parrish in Hannibal, Missouri. He was employed at a machine shop and also a tool manufacturing and sheet metal worker while they resided in Hannibal. Ed manufactured fishing lures while residing in Blue Springs, Missouri and worked as a home remodeler through the years. He was a member of the Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port, Missouri. Ed passed away Monday, Mach 8, 2010 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 79 years.
Besides his parents, Ed is preceded in death by a son, Shawn Edward Campfield. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of the home in Rock Port; six sons, Edward E. Campfield, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, Leeton, Missouri, Charles E. Campfield, Sr. and his wife, Deborah, Elk City, Kansas, Mark S. Campfield, Sr. and his wife, Nancy, Portsmouth, Virginia, Michael K. Campfield, Rock Port, Kerry Gene Campfield and his wife, Karen, Charlotte, North Carolina, Scott W. Campfield and his wife, Christine, Blackfoot, Idaho; twenty one grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley D. Miller and her husband, James, Hannibal, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.
