Anna E. Viets
Anna Evelyn Viets, the daughter of Homer Eldon and Bertha Ellen (Cox) Donelson, was born December 6, 1920, in Princeton, Missouri. She attended school in Mercer County.
On August 14, 1943, Anna was united in marriage to Arthur Henry “Hank” Viets, at the home of Judge Savage in Rock Port, Missouri. They made their home in the Rock Port area and became the parents of four children, David, Betty, Phillip and Charles. Hank passed away January 25, 1993.
Anna was an OATS volunteer of the year in 2009. She delivered meals at Fair Oaks and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family. Anna passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 92.
Besides her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by brothers, Glen Donelson, Billie Donelson, Walker Donelson, Dean Donelson; infant brothers, Hebert and Larry Donelson; and sisters, Viola Austin and Pauline Morris. Survivors include children, David Viets, and wife, Patricia, Waldorf, Maryland, Betty Goad, and husband, Bobby, and Phillip Viets, and wife, Linda, all of Watson, Missouri, Charles Viets, and wife, Rebecca, Tarkio, Missouri; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Jim Donelson, and wife, Marie, and David “Jack” Donelson, and wife, Bonnie, all of Davenport, Iowa; sisters, Shirley Irvin, and husband, Lloyd, Silver City, Iowa, and Glendoris “Pink” Brown, Davenport, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
