Connie L. Riley
February 6, 1941 - February 5, 2026
Connie Lou Riley, the daughter of Sterling and Crystal (Brightwell) Lambert, was born February 6, 1941, in Leona, Kansas. She attended Midway High School, Denton, Kansas, graduating in 1959. Connie then attended Gard’s Business College, St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in December of 1959.
On December 27, 1959, Connie was united in marriage to Donald L. Riley in Leona, Kansas. They made their home in Tarkio, Missouri their entire married life and became the parents of three children, Cindy, Donald II, and Darrin. Don passed away in June of 2024.
Connie was a homemaker, caring for her children. She was then employed as a cook for numerous restaurants including Torrey Pines, Tarkio College, Walnut Inn, and finally Korner Kitchen. She retired in the late 1990’s. After retiring, Connie babysat numerous local children.
Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tarkio, and served as the Secretary for numerous years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, all puzzles, and crafting. She especially loved canning, cooking and baking. Connie passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 84.
Besides her parents and husband, Don Riley, Connie was preceded in death by sons, Donald Riley, II and Darrin Riley; son-in-law, Ronald Nelson; brothers, Herbert Lambert and Clinton “Bud” Lambert, sisters, Matilda McAtee, Mildred Byers, and Mary Lambert. Survivors include daughter, Cindy Nelson; grandchildren, Jacob (Mackenzie) Riley, Christopher (BreAnne) Riley, Hayden Riley, R’Donya Nelson, and Torrey Nelson; great grandchildren, Zoe and Finnley Riley, and Cooper, Carson, and Drake Riley; sister, Vickie (Roger) McFeeters; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 13, 2026, First Baptist Church, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Friday, prior to the service. There is no open visitation.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Memorials: Connie Riley Memorial Fund.
