Glenn F. Bargman, Ph.D.
November 22, 1929 - June 20, 2025
Glenn Fred Bargman, Ph.D., the son of G. Fred and Ethel (Uttvits) Bargman, was born November 22, 1929, in Westboro, Missouri. He attended Westboro High School, graduating in 1949. He then attended Tarkio College, receiving his associate’s degree in 1951. After receiving his associate’s degree, Glenn attended Northwest Missouri State University, where he received his master’s degree in education in 1970. In 1972, he received his Education Specialist degree from Central Missouri State University, and later his Ph.D. degree from University of Iowa, in 1974.
On December 22, 1950, Glenn was united in marriage to Carmean Macrander. The couple moved to Mesa, Arizona and spent many years at the Resort. On November 1, 1951, Glenn entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge on September 5, 1953. They became the parents of two children, Steven Curtis and Joni Lynne. Carmean passed away in 2016.
Glenn was employed by Fairfax R-III School District. He was a teacher, coach, and later the school administrator. He then was a Superintendent for North Nodaway, West Nodaway, Union Star, and finally Northwest School District of House Springs. He retired as a proud educator.
Glenn was a member of the United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed preaching on occasion. He enjoyed singing, sports, and woodcarving. Glenn never met a stranger and made conversations with anyone. Glenn passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, Village Care Center, Maryville, at the age of 95.
Besides his parents and wife, Carmean Bargman, Glenn was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Bargman and Mary Ruth Alter. Survivors include children, Steve (Kimberly) Bargman and Joni (Jeff) Sherlock; grandchildren, Heidi Bargman, Hillary (Matt) Briand, Matt Carlisle, Jackson (Courtney) Nowland, Nikki (Edward) Halter; great grandsons, James, Noah, and Levi Briand, Maxwell and William Halter.
Memorial Graveside Service and Inurnment: 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 27, 2025, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.
There is no scheduled visitation.
