Angela Hope Valenzuela, the daughter of George Valenzuela and Rebecca Reed, was born November 29, 1984, in Lubbock, Texas. She attended Tulia schools, Tulia, Texas.
Twelve years ago, following her mother’s passing, Angela moved to Fairfax, Missouri, to be cared for and live with her cousin, Debbie Long and husband, Bill. The Long family loved Angela as if she was their own daughter. She was a large part of their family and enjoyed life through all of their ups and downs. Angela enjoyed helping Debbie care for other children, attending Girl Scout meetings and Fairfax youth activities. She attended school events and sports activities with her family, where she made many friends. Angela passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015, at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 31.
Angela loved drawing, coloring, reading books and writing poems. Angela was a sweet, good person who led a simple life. She had a great sense of humor and loved music, especially old rock and roll. In her brother, Joshua’s, words Angela has changed us all and we hope that we are better for it.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include brother, Joshua Valenzuela and wife, Aleena, Tulia; three nephews, Kathan, Zy and Brayson; cousin and caregiver for the last 12 years, Debbie Long and husband, Bill, Fairfax, and their daughters, Nicole Booker and husband, Grant, Shenandoah, Iowa, Lacy Long, San Antonio, Texas, and Katheryn Long, Shenandoah; Nicole’s children, Michael Reed, Mason Booker and Makinze Booker; cousin, W.F. (Tooter) Reed and wife, Betty, Kress, Texas; and numerous other cousins.
The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 9, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Memorial Service: Saturday, December 12, First Baptist Church, Kress, Texas.
Inurnment: Kress Cemetery, Kress.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
