Anna Rose Moore, the daughter of Martin and Susie Sophia (Amthor) Fischer was born May 26, 1908 in rural Rock Port, Missouri. Anna attended the Opp Country School and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1925.

She was united in marriage to John Ernest Moore on March 9, 1927 in Hamburg, Iowa. They began farming in the Watson, Missouri area. A year later they moved east of Fairfax, Missouri where their daughter, Ruth, was born. Shortly thereafter, they returned to the High Creek community near Watson and farmed until their retirement in 1977. Ernest and Anna moved to Rock Port in 1982. Anna was a dedicated homemaker and “farmer’s wife”. Ernest passed away on October 7, 1986. Anna passed away Tuesday, November 07, 2006 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port at the age of 98 years.

Anna was a former member of High Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Rock Port Baptist Church. She was also a member of the High Creek Ladies Aid, the Lone Cedar Ladies Club and the Rock Port Garden Club.

Anna is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Merle Fox, Rock Port; one granddaughter and her husband, Mary Jean and J.C. Nixon, Omaha, Nebraska; three great grandchildren, Laura Atkinson and husband, Steve, Mike Nixon and wife, Angie, and Curtis Nixon; five great great grandchildren, Ashley, Riley and Morgan Atkinson, Will and Elli Nixon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Deatz, Cecile Herron and Florence Bennington.

Services were Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, with burial at High Creek Cemetery, Watson. The family received friends Wednesday, November 08, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Minter Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Rock Port Baptist Church or the Rock Port Nutrition Center.
