Ardith J. Cook, the daughter of Everett and Ethel (Curry) Dawson, was born March 18, 1928 south of Rock Port, Missouri.  She graduated from Rock Port High School in 1946.

On April 7, 1946, Ardith was united in marriage to Bill Cook in Hiawatha, Kansas. They became the parents of five sons; Dale, Stan, Keith, Keven and Rob.  Ardith was a stay at home mom, taking excellent care of her five sons, while the family moved because of Bill’s employment.  They made their home in Kansas City, Missouri, Cameron, Missouri, Rockwell City, Iowa, Le Mars, Iowa, Riverside, South Dakota, Glendale Arizona, and Mesa, Arizona.  In 2004, they returned to Rock Port, Bill passed away in 2006. Soon after his passing, Ardith moved to Norfolk, Nebraska to be closer to her sons. Ardith passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home, Norfolk, NE at the age of 91.

Besides her parents and husband, Bill, Ardith was preceded in death by two sisters, Orma Lee (Gene) Hunter and Monzelle (Paul) Cochran.  Survivors include, sons, Dale (Terry) Cook, Houston, TX, Stan (Denine) Cook, Lincoln, NE, Keith (Vicki) Cook, Maryville, MO, Keven (Ann) Cook, Huntsville, AL, Rob (Denise) Cook, Norfolk, NE; grandchildren, Jenna (Andre) Els, Maggie (Bryce) Dolan, Chris (Erin) Cook, Matt Cook, Candi Cook, Shawn Cook, Mindy Cook, Nicholas Cook, and great grandchildren, Morgan, Ellie, Averie, and Trystyn.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2019, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Inurnment: English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax, Missouri.

Memorials may be directed to the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation or the Rock Port Nutrition Center.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 25th, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Minter Funeral Chapel.
