Audley D. Jackson, Sr.
1928-2015
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Audley D. Jackson, Sr., the son of Lloyd Earl and Lela (Tallant) Jackson was born October 28, 1928, in Wathena, Kansas. He attended Phelps City, Missouri, schools. Audley worked on the Missouri River and later joined the United States Navy where he served his country during World War II.

 

In 1948, Audley was united in marriage to Clara Allgood. They became the parents of two children, Marlene and Audley, Jr. Audley was employed as an iron worker building skyscrapers and power plants. Following retirement, he returned to Rock Port and owned and operated a small welding shop west of Rock Port, Missouri.

 

Audley was a member of the local MO-KAN Iron Workers Union in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Grace Church, Rock Port. Audley passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, Nebraska, at the age of 87.

 

Besides his parents, Audley was preceded in death by five brothers, Lloyd, Wilbur, Jack, John and Cletus Jackson; five sisters, Edith Record, Sally Anderson, Leola Lewis, Lela Painter and Joan Humphrey. Survivors include wife, Clara, Rock Port; daughter, Marlene Fitzpatrick and husband, John, Silver City, Iowa; son, Audley D. Jackson, Jr., Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Shawn and Joseph Fitzpatrick and Mariah and Dallas Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Melonie and Nicholas; sisters, Jean Jochim and husband, Jim, Judy Lisle and Linda Fuston and husband, Pat, all of Rock Port.

10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 10, 2015, Grace Church, Rock Port.
Inurnment: Linden Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no visitation.
