Barbara A. Pfeil

1942-2018

Rock Port, Missouri

 

Barbara Ann Pfeil, the daughter of William and Helen (Ottmann) Walker was born on May 25, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri.  She graduated from Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, in 1960.  After graduating she received her Associates degree in business from St. Joseph, Missouri.

 

On April 14, 1962, Barbara was united in marriage to Gary W. Pfeil at the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.  They made their home in Rock Port until 1981 when they moved to a home outside of Langdon, Missouri.  Besides being a homemaker and raising their three children, Barbara was employed in numerous jobs which include; the Rock Port Theater, the Atchison County Court House, Pleasant View Nursing Home (bookkeeper), Greenley’s Grocery Store, and Region V Services (providing care for individuals in group homes in Auburn and Nebraska City, Nebraska).  Barbara enjoyed gardening, listening to music, her dog, Willis, and her home out on the bottom.  Barbara passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 76.

 

Barbara was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Rock Port.

 

Survivors include her husband, Gary W. Pfeil; brothers, Robert Walker and his wife, Cindy, Forest Lake, Minnesota, Thomas Walker and his wife, Sandi, Kennewick, Washington; sister, Betty Nixon and her husband, Jamie, Council Bluffs, Iowa; two daughters, Deborah Miller and her husband, Philip, Tucson, Arizona, Sandra Pfeil, Lincoln, Nebraska; son, Gary O. Pfeil, Rock Port, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Jaiden.

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Graveside Service and Interment: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018, Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.

Open visitation begins 10:00 A.M., Friday, Minter Funeral Chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
