Betty Ann (Viets) Goad of Watson, Missouri, died on December 24, 2024, at Grape Hospital, Hamburg, Iowa, at the age of 75. Betty was born just before midnight on October 31, 1949, in Saint Francis Hospital, Maryville, Missouri. She was the daughter of Arthur Henry “Hank” and Anna Evelyn (Donelson) Viets.

Betty attended the one-room school in Nishnabotna, Missouri, from 1955 until it closed in 1956, and the students were transferred to Rock Port, Missouri schools. In 1965, her father took a job near Underwood, Iowa, where Betty graduated from Underwood High School in 1967.

Following graduation, Betty lived and worked various jobs in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Saint Joseph, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. On August 15, 1996, Betty was united in marriage to Bobby Goad in Jackson County, Missouri, and made their home in Watson, Missouri.

Betty was employed as a cook at Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri, and at Trail’s End Restaurant, and was a cashier at Dominator’s truck stop both of Rock Port, before retiring because of health issues. She was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Corning, Missouri. Betty was a lifelong and devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Survivors include brothers, David (Patricia) Viets, Waldorf, Maryland, Phillip (Linda) Viets, Watson, and Charles (Rebecca) Viets, Tarkio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, Watson Community Building, Watson.

There is no scheduled visitation.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials: Minter Funeral Chapel for final expenses.

Cremation Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
