Betty Jeanne Macrander peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in Macon, Missouri where she had lived the past two years.

Betty Jeanne was born on September 7, 1929 to Ira and Esther (Burch) Mozingo in Maryville, Missouri. She spent her early years on the family farm, near the Atchison/Nodaway County line. After graduating from Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri, she married Emmett Macrander, son of Todd and Mary Macrander, at the Westboro Methodist Church in 1948. Together they raised five children.

Betty enjoyed working in the healthcare setting, employed many years at the community hospitals in both Fairfax, Missouri and Hamburg, Iowa. She also owned and operated her own beauty shop in Elmo, Missouri.

Betty is survived by her five children, Rhonda (Jim) Schutz, West Richland, Washington, Valerie (Don) Darst, Moberly, Missouri, A. Michael (Ginger) Macrander, Gig Harbor, Washington, Lori (Nathan) Hudgins, Houston, Texas, and Leah (Sean) Kilkenny, Kansas City, Missouri. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many cherished friendships.

The family would like to express gratitude for the kindness extended by Loch Haven Senior Living and Samaritan Hospital, Macon.

Graveside Service and Interment: 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 4, 2020, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.

There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Thursday, December 3, 2020, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Betty was happiest on the back of a horse or with a dog on her lap. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Paw Prints, a fund set up at Farmers State Bank in Tarkio that is used for animals in need in Atchison County or Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro.
