Beulah Belle Gayler, the daughter of Stephen and Sarah Elizabeth (Wood) Lawless was born on May 19, 1920, in Watson, Missouri. She attended Atchison County Schools and graduated from Nishnabotna High School in Nishnabotna, Missouri.
On August 26, 1939, she was united in marriage by Rev. M.D. Mulvania to John Bert Gayler at the Rock Port Baptist Parsonage. Due to the war and the different job opportunities available, they moved several times, making their home in Indiana and California before moving back to Rock Port, Missouri to retire. Beulah passed away on July 25, 2011, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port at the age of 91 years.
Beulah was a member of the Grace Church in Rock Port. She loved to cook and share meals with her family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, John Bert, Beulah was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Ann Hubbard, three brothers, Kenneth Lawless, Ralph Lawless, and infant, Byron Lawless, and five sisters, Bess Bungenstock, Pearl Scharringhausen, Annabelle Humphreys, Helen Winkler, and Mildred Lewis. Beulah is survived by her granddaughters, Cindy and husband, Dayne Sutter, of Tarkio, Missouri, and Michelle and husband, Rodney Reed, of Shiloh Springs, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren, Sierra Sutter, of Fairfax, Missouri, Cory Coppock, of Clearlake, California, Zachery Reed, Connor Reed, Kaden Reed and Zoey Reed, of Shiloh Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Dorothy Salfrank, of St Joseph, Missouri, and Virginia Hain, of Independence, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 28, 2011, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
