Beulah Berniece (Chapman) Watkins, the daughter of Charles E. and Kate (Spaah) Chapman, was born in Massena, Iowa on February 22, 1916. Her family moved to the Tarkio, Missouri area in the late 1920’s, where Beulah attended Pepperbox Country School until the 8th grade.
On September 18, 1936, after dating four years, Beulah was united in marriage to Wallace Ray Watkins. Beulah was a homemaker, raising their five children. She loved them all and didn’t need to say it in words. She was there to help them, feed them, and make sure they did the right thing.
Beulah was a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church and had accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She was always available to help serve funeral dinners. Beulah was a past member of the Homer 4-H Club and the Homer Extension Club. She loved her home and family, they were her greatest joy.
Beulah passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port, Missouri at the age of 94 years.
Besides her parents, Beulah is preceded in death by her husband, W.R. who passed away in 1986, and one brother, Lester Chapman. Survivors include her children, Bonnie Novy, Lincoln, Nebraska, Karen Kay Sturtz, Jim and Janet Watkins, Charley Watkins, all of Tarkio, and John Watkins and his friend, Lynette, Shenandoah, Iowa; nine grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Curtis, Cameron, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 am, Friday, February 26, 2010, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:50 am, Friday, prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home.
