Beulah L. Welch, the daughter of Henry O. and Effie M. (Muffley) Hudson, was born October 4, 1919, in Watson, Missouri. She attended Watson rural schools and Watson High School.
On May 10, 1937, Beulah was united in marriage to William Hersal Welch in Spickard, Missouri. They made their home in Spickard before moving to Watson in 1952. In 1954, they moved to rural Rock Port, Missouri. Hersal passed away April 15, 1974. In 1990, Beulah moved into Rock Port where she lived to the present time.
Beulah was a wonderful mother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, garage sales and going for rides in the country. She especially looked forward to her morning tea with her children. Beulah was baptized and a former member of the Watson Presbyterian Church. Beulah passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home in Rock Port, at the age of 94. She will be dearly missed by all.
Besides her parents and husband, Hersal, Beulah was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Polly Mae Welch; two brothers, James and Donald Hudson; sister, Mary Collins; and daughter-in-law, Janet Welch. Survivors include children, Jerry Welch and wife, Joyce, Mary Finnell, Edith Beasing and husband, Harold, all of Rock Port, Sharon Hughes and husband, Joe, Tarkio, Missouri, and Gordon Welch, Farragut, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Bill and Tony Howell, Mike Welch, Clint Hughes, Lori Erickson, Lisa Yates, Shelli Sutter and Ron Welch; eleven great-grandchildren, Katie Ann, Nick, Andrew, Emily, Jase, Kyler, Alli, Alex, Aiden, Alyssa and Ryan; one great-great-grandchild, Helena; two brothers, Elbert and Delbert Hudson, both of Rock Port; and brother-in-law, Frank Welch, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2014, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.
