Bonnie Jean (Heldt) Baumann, the daughter of Floyd Nicholas and Linda Augusta (Runge) Heldt, was born May 23, 1929 in Onawa, Iowa. She was confirmed at the Denison Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa. Bonnie attended school in Iowa, graduating in 1947 from Denison High School.

 

On October 15, 1950, Bonnie was united in marriage to Wayne Virgil “Buck” Baumann in Denison. Due to Buck’s employment, the family relocated several times. After living in Rock Port from 1970 to 1977, they moved to Papillion, Nebraska. Following Buck’s passing in 2003, Bonnie returned to Rock Port to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Bonnie was a homemaker and enjoyed being there for her family. She passed away Monday, February 2, 2009 at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

 

Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Buck; one sister, Verla Bachman and one infant brother, Floyd Heldt, Jr.

 

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Gerri Nicks and her husband, Jim, Rock Port; son, Ty Baumann, Omaha, Nebraska; grandson, Jason Stephens and his fiancée Tiffany Burk, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter, Jennifer Wood and her husband, Kaven, Rock Port; four great grandchildren, Breea, Hayden, Keaton and Ethan; three sisters, Marlene Hubbard and her husband, Bob, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, JoAnn Layhue and her husband, Tom, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Elvira Voge and her husband, Don, Radcliffe, Kentucky; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside service and interment: 2:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2009, Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation begins after 9:00 am, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Services are under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
