Bonnie L (Adams) Whited
January 6, 1922 - November 26, 2019
Bonnie Lucille Adams, was born on January 6, 1922 in Hatfield, Missouri, to Luther and Evalena (Pottorff) Adams, the oldest of four children. She passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2019, at Maryville Living Center, Maryville, Missouri at the age of 97.
Bonnie grew up around Hatfield where she graduated Hatfield High School in 1939. Shortly before graduating, she met the love of her life, Donald P. Whited. She married Don on September 16, 1939. Don and Bonnie had a full and loving life together and eventually made their home in Tarkio, Missouri, raising two sons, Bill and Roger Whited. Together, they started Whited & Sons Construction, which served Tarkio and surrounding areas with both heavy equipment and sanitation disposal services for decades. Bonnie also loved working alongside Don with the farms and raising cattle. Bonnie was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years, serving as worthy matron in the Tarkio Chapter in late 60’s. She was an amazingly strong woman who tackled life’s challenges head-on with courage and faith. Bonnie was an incredible cook and loved sharing her canned goods with friends and family. She enjoyed many things during her 97 years, but her greatest love was for her family, friends, and Tarkio First Baptist Church. She was especially proud to have lived long enough to be a great grandmother to Nate and Elizabeth Ceperley, and a great great grandmother to Keaton, Lynnlee, and Cutter Ceperley.
Besides her parents and husband, Donald, Bonnie was preceded in death by sister, Beulah Adams Kemerling and brothers, Melvin Adams and Calvin Adams. Bonnie is survived by sons, Bill (Jeanette) Whited, Maryville, and Roger (Susan) Whited, Bonita Springs, Florida; two granddaughters, Lora Whited Ceperley (Dana Buckner), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Lauren Whited (Michael Freark), Fairfax, Virginia; three step grandchildren, Jim (Joyce) Solheim, Omaha, Nebraska, Bob (Linda) Solheim, Scottsdale, Arizona, Jane (Alejandro) Montoya, Eden Prairie, Minnesota; eleven great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews across the country.
