C. James “Fenny” Fentiman
1950 – 2012
Rock Port, Missouri

 

C. James “Fenny” Fentiman, the son of Dwane and Helen (Long) Fentiman was born January 7, 1950 in Hamburg, Iowa. Affectionately known as Fenny, he was a Rock Port, Missouri boy his entire life. He attended Rock Port Schools graduating in 1968.

 

On May 24, 2008, Fenny was united in marriage to Julie Knapp at the Rock Port City Park. Julie survives of the home in Rock Port. Fenny passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home in Rock Port at the age of 62 after a short and courageous battle against cancer.

 

Fenny worked at the Blue Jay Bowl, the family business in Rock Port from his youth. Up until its recent sale they called him regularly to work on the equipment. He helped area farmers during the busy season and was an equipment operator for Mo Valley Ag, before driving a truck over the road for 10 years on a regular Canadian run. Most recently he worked as a custom chemical applicator for MFA Ag Choice in Rock Port and planned on retiring this March.

 

Fenny grew up playing and excelling at football, baseball, bowling and golf, which was his passion. He bowled several perfect games and won numerous local and national tournaments. He was a former member of the Rock Port Country Club.

 

Fenny was preceded in death by his father Dwane, grandparents, Clifford and Fern Fentiman, and Guy and Georgia Long, and god daughter, Samantha Lansdown. Survivors include his wife Julie, Rock Port; step-sons Michael Dunn, Clallam Bay, Washington, and Joseph Dunn, Rock Port; foster daughter, Tina Rebel; mother, Helen Fentiman; brother, Richard Fentiman and his wife Suzanne, all of Rock Port; nephew, Barry Fentiman and his fiance, Sarah Brumfield and great niece Madison Fentiman all of Olathe, Kansas; and a host of friends too numerous to count.

 

An informal Memorial Service, followed by a time for friends to share, will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Rock Port.
A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the James Fentiman Memorial Fund.
There is no visitation.
