Cathy Lynn Hurst, the daughter of Laverne James Robert and Chelita Revae (Reinke) Goolsby, was born April 23, 1958, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended Benton High School, St. Joseph, graduating in 1976. In 2009, Cathy moved to Tarkio, Missouri, after meeting Bryan.

On January 28, 2010, Cathy was united in marriage to Bryan Hurst in Rock Port, Missouri. They made their home in Tarkio to the present time.

Cathy was employed by Northwest Psychiatric Hospital in St. Joseph, for 19 years, retiring in 2012. Cathy passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, at the age of 59.

Cathy was preceded in death by father, Laverne Goolsby and mother-in-law, Donna Ferguson. Survivors include husband, Bryan, Tarkio; children, Laura Brooks, Fairfax, Missouri, JoAnna Hurst, St. Joseph, and Travis (Scott) Langdon, Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Noah, Lily, Cameron, Leila, Jonas and PhaeLynn; mother, Chelita Goolsby; sister, Lori (Steve) Davis; niece, Katie Davis; nephew, Casey Davis, all of St. Joseph; father-in-law, Harold Hurst, Tarkio; brothers-in-law, Kevin Hurst, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Shawn (Glenda) Hurst, Ravenwood, Missouri; numerous cousins; and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, September, 21, 2017, Freeman Chapel, Easton, Missouri.
Interment: 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 21st, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 20th, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio and also from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 21st, Freeman Chapel, Easton.
