Charlene Evelyn Taylor
June 24, 1920 - September 28, 2007
Charlene Evelyn Taylor, the daughter of Guy and Hazel (Hecker) Buckminster was born June 24, 1920 in Corning, Missouri. She attended Corning Elementary and High School, graduating in 1938.
On November 18, 1939, Charlene was united in marriage to Willis Taylor in Hiawatha, Kansas. They made their home in the Corning area then, in 1972, moved to Rock Port. In 1977, they moved to Fair Oaks Apartments, in Rock Port, when Charlene began working at Pleasant View Nursing Home as a nurse’s aid. In 2005, she became a resident of Pleasant View where she lived to the present time. Willis passed away on September 7, 1984. Charlene passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
Charlene was a member of the Corning Christian Church.
Besides her parents and husband, Willis, Charlene was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Buckminster, Jr. son-in-law, Leo Erdman, and granddaughter-in-law, Stephanie Erdman.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Erdman, Rock Port; one grandson, Jay Erdman and his wife, Lisa, Rock Port, and one granddaughter, Lee Ann Boyle and her husband, Larry, Beaver Lake, Nebraska; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Jackie Moore, St. Joseph, Missouri.
