Charles E. Griffith, the son of Marvin and Dorothy (Bonnet) Griffith, was born on November 22, 1937, in Amboy, Minnesota. He attended Sherburn High School, Sherburn, Minnesota, graduating in 1955.
On October 31, 1958, Charles was united in marriage to Marilyn R. Boulter on ENT Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado. They became the parents of five children, Tracy, Sandra, Rick, Terri, and Robyn. On October 19, 1961, Charles entered the United States Air Force, serving his country as an Aircraft Mechanic. He received his honorable discharge on December 17, 1965. Marilyn passed away in October of 2022.
Charles was employed as a Supervisor for Northern Natural Gas, where he later retired.
Charles was a member of Good News Church, Tarkio, Missouri. He was also a member of Allen Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio, Knights Templar, and Ochiltree Masonic Lodge #910, both of Perryton, Texas. Charles was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He loved fishing, hunting, and motorcycles. Charles especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Charles passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at his home in Tarkio, at the age of 86.
Besides his parents and wife, Marilyn Griffith, Charles was preceded in death by grandchildren, Taylor Griffith and Brandon Barbo. Survivors include children, Tracy (James) Byers, Balko Oklahoma, Sandra (Bob) Farris, Brush, Colorado, Rick (Tracy) Griffith, Goodyear, Arizona, Terri (Daniel) Noland, Tarkio, and Robyn (Frank) Alvarado, Rapid City, South Dakota; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Daniel (Marcy) Griffith, Nelda Keeley, and Jeannie Harberts, all of Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 7, 2024, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 A.M., Saturday, prior to the service. There is no open visitation.
Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Charles Griffith Memorial Fund.
