Charles W. “Chuck” Beck, the son of Lee Charles and Helen Crystal (Greer) Beck, was born May 19, 1937 in Rock Port, Missouri. He attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, graduating in 1955. On May 17, 1955, Chuck entered the United States Navy, serving his country for two years. He received his honorable discharge on April 18, 1957.

 

On January 19, 1958, Chuck was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Fletcher at the Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port. They became the parents of two sons, Randall and Gregory and made their home in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Chuck was employed in financial management for numerous companies including their family farm, United Airlines, Air Transport and Association of America, Citizens Bank and Trust, and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

 

Chuck was a former member and President of Rock Port Country Club, City Councilman for Rock Port, and served as President of Council for First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Chuck passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 85.

 

Besides his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by siblings, Francis Beck, Betty Moore, Barbara Moelter, and infant sister, Ilene Beck; nephew, Danny Moore; brothers-in-law, Bill Moore and Don Burke. Survivors include wife, Shirley Beck, Fairfax, Missouri; sons, Randall (Julie) Beck, Hollister, Missouri and Greg (Deanna) Beck, Fairfax; grandchildren, Maranda Beck, Danielle Beck, Stephanie Brokaw, Crystal (Kamron) Woodring, Jacob (Brittiany Brown) Beck, and Katie Beck; 7 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 13 step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Burke, Fairfax; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 12, 2022, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.

Open visitation begins 12:00 P.M., Sunday, December 11, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Inurnment: Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.

Memorials: Wounded Warriors Project or Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
