Charles William “Bill” Linthicum, the son of Carrick L. and Betty (Carroll) Linthicum, was born October 16, 1928 in Tarkio, Missouri.  He attended schools in West Plains, Missouri and rural Tarkio schools.

On December 27, 1945, Bill was united in marriage to Carrol Delores Jones in Hiawatha, Kansas.  They made their home in West Plains until 1947, when they returned to Tarkio.  They became the parents of four children; Linda, Vickie, Ricky and Charles Wm. “Chuck” II.  Carrol passed away September 12, 1987.

Bill owned and operated trucks; hauling livestock and grain for area farmers.  He also farmed and in the late 1980’s drove a school bus for Tarkio schools. After retiring in 1992, Bill was employed by Brown’s Ag & Seed in Tarkio and Rock Port, Missouri locations. Ill health forced Bill’s final retirement in 1998.  Bill passed away Friday, January 31, 2020, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Healthcare at the age of 91.

Bill was a good family man who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.  He especially enjoyed watching Kansas City Chiefs football.

Besides his parents and wife, Carrol, Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Vickie Klahn, grandson, Carrick Linthicum, brother, James Linthicum, sister, Gladys Smith and stepfather, Leon Colbert.  Survivors include daughter, Linda Michaelis, Tarkio; sons, Ricky A. Linthicum, Irving, Texas, Charles Wm. “Chuck” (Malisa) Linthicum II, Rock Port; five grandchildren, Jeff, Angie, Michelle, Colby, Caden; six great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Linthicum; sisters, Wanda Meyer and Sue Colbert.

Graveside Service and Interment:  11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Home Cemetery, Tarkio, Missouri.

There is no scheduled family visitation.
