Cheryl Elaine Freeman, the daughter of Charles Maynard and Inace (Riley) Freeman, was born October 30, 1957, in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1976 and Tarkio College, graduating in 1989.

Cheryl was employed as a librarian at the Atchison County Library, Tarkio Branch for 21 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Tarkio, and helped serve children in the church nursery and with children’s church. Cheryl made a public declaration of her faith and was baptized Saturday, October 18, 2014. She said, “I’m scared but I trust Jesus and it’s worth it!” Cheryl passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, at Community-Hospital Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 56.

Besides her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by sister, Tammy Sue Freeman and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include siblings, Mary Jane Driskell and husband, John, Tarkio, Connie Lou Burk and husband, Max, Kansas City, Missouri, and James Douglas Freeman and wife, Ria, Rogers, Arkansas; one nephew, Charles Turin Freeman, whom she considered her soul baby; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 24, 2014, Assembly of God Church, Tarkio.
Interment: Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
Open visitation will begin 9:00 A.M., Thursday, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. There is no scheduled family visitation.
