Chris Hadley Easley, the son of Hadley and Virginia (Ragland) Easley, was born July 6, 1954, in Fairfax, Missouri. Chris attended Rock Port High School, graduating in 1972.

 

On June 4, 1976, Chris was united in marriage to Karen Simmons at the Fairfax Christian Church. They became the parents of two children, Paula and Nathan, and made their home in Fairfax.

 

Chris was owner and operator of S&E Gas Station, Tarkio, Missouri, then was employed as a machinist for Eaton Corporation, Shenandoah, Iowa, for 23 years. Later, he was employed with Fairfax R-III School, working in maintenance and driving a bus, retiring in 2017.

 

Chris was a member of the Fairfax Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School classes and served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Slo-Rollers Car Club. Chris enjoyed working on his Ford Falcon, playing the fiddle, attending car shows, and writing books. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Most of all, Chris loved sharing his faith and spending time with his grandchildren. Chris passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 68.

 

Besides his parents, Chris was preceded in death by brother, Gary Easley; mother and father-in-law, Norman and Fern Simmons; brothers-in-law, Ted Simmons and Tony Gaines. Survivors include wife, Karen Easley, Fairfax; children, Paula (Jacob) Thompson, Bandon, Oregon, and Nathan (Kristen) Easley, Nebraska City, Nebraska; grandchildren, Grace, Olivia, Hayden, Gin, and Griffin; sisters, Sharon Gaines, Rock Port, and Anne (George) Barnett, Tarkio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry Simmons, Sharon Wynn, Brenda Brandt, Bud Simmons, and Emma Easley; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

 

Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 28, 2023, Fairfax Baptist Church, Fairfax.

Open visitation begins 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 27, Fairfax Baptist Church, Fairfax, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Inurnment: English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax.

Memorials: Community Hospital-Fairfax or Fairfax Baptist Church.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
