Cletus C. Jackson was born August 19, 1941, to Lloyd Earl and Lela May (Tallant) Jackson in Phelps City, Missouri. He attended school in Phelps City and Rock Port, Missouri. In 1959, he entered the United States Army and proudly served his country overseas in Germany.
On January 21, 1963, Cletus was united in marriage to Mary Kathryn “Kay” Moore in Rock Port, and to this union were born three children; Cletus C., Jr., Dianna and Melissa. They made their home in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1968, they moved to Snoqualmie, Washington, where they lived for 33 years. Cletus was employed by Weyerhaeuser as a gravel truck driver building logging roads. In 2001, Cletus and Kay returned to the Rock Port area where they resided to the present time. Cletus passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the age of 69 years.
Cletus was a member of Covert Lodge No. 11 A.F. & A.M., in Omaha, Nebraska, and a former member of The Eagles Club and the American Legion in Snoqualmie.
Besides his parents and daughter, Melissa, Cletus was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Jackson, Wilbur Jackson, Jack Jackson, John R. Jackson, Sr., and sisters, Edith Record, Sally Anderson and Leola Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Kay Jackson, of the home in Rock Port; son, Cletus C. Jackson, Jr., and his wife, Camille, Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Dianna Miller, Rock Port; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Audley Jackson, and his wife, Clara, Rock Port; sisters, Joan Humphrey, Carnation, Washington, Jean Jochim and her husband, Jim, Judy Lisle, Lela Painter and her husband, Jerry, all of Rock Port, Linda Fuston and her husband, Pat, Hamburg, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 25, 2010, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port
Interment: Linden Cemetery, Rock Port
Masonic Services under the direction of North Star Lodge #157, A.F. & A.M., Rock Port,will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010, at Minter Funeral Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
