David Roy Robinson
1950 – 2007
Rock Port, Mo

 

David Roy Robinson, 57 passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at his home in Rock Port.

 

David was born in Unionville, Missouri, February 22, 1950. He attended school in Moberly, Missouri, graduating in 1968. David attended Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska where he received a B.S. in Human Resources.

 

In 1970, David was united in marriage to Peggy Jones. Of this union, two children were born, Jon and Heather. They were later divorced. David was united in marriage to Norena Evans on April 5, 1990 in David City, Nebraska.

 

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970 and served in the nuclear program as an instructor at the nuclear prototype in Idaho Falls, Idaho. David then served his country aboard the nuclear submarine, the USS Patrick Henry. In 1978, he received his honorable discharge. David then returned to Moberly, where he worked for the Thomas Hill Generating Station. In 1982, David moved to Rock Port where he was employed with Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. He held the position of Station Operator, and was later licensed as a Senior Reactor Operator. He then attained the position of Quality Assurance Manager, which he held until his retirement in 2003. After retiring, David began his own business, Amicus Consulting, which he operated from his home in Rock Port.

 

David was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rock Port; Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, Rock Port; and the Rock Port Optimist Club. He was a former board member of the Rock Port R-II School System and the Rock Port City Council. and had held the office of President while serving on the Board of Directors, Rock Port Country Club.

 

He is survived by his wife Norena of the home; parents, Roy and Lila Robinson, Rock Port; son and daughter, Jon and Heather Robinson, Omaha, Nebraska; step-daughter Halley Evans-Robinson and step-son Brent Dahlin, Rock Port; granddaughter Katie Robinson, Omaha; sister Janette Smith and husband Garrett, Rock Port; brother Robert Robinson and wife Teri, Denton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial Services were held at the Rock Port United Methodist Church, Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 11:00 am, with a private family burial at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the David Robinson Memorial Fund for the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation, Rock Port.
