Della Elizabeth (Calfee) Moses, the daughter of Charles Levi and Vera (Honaker) Calfee, was born July 10, 1908 in Elmo, Missouri. She attended Salem Country School and graduated from Elmo High School in 1927.

On December 31, 1928, Della was united in marriage to Fredrick Orville Moses at their pastor’s home in Clarinda, Iowa. They lived in Braddyville, Iowa, College Springs, Iowa, Westboro, Missouri and Blanchard, Iowa. They then moved back to Elmo, following Fred’s retirement, where Della lived until 2007. She then moved to Golden Rod Nursing Home in Clarinda, Iowa. Della passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Clarinda Regional Hospital at the age of 101 years. Della was a member of the Elmo Christian Church and the North Star Rook Club.

Besides her parents, Della is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who passed away in 1982; two daughters, Freda Webber and Della Ruth Moses; son, Jerry Moses; two grandsons, Mark Bargman and Jerry Allan Moses; two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie Moses, Tarkio, Missouri; Larry Moses and his wife, Linda, Fairfax, Missouri; Carol Bargman and her husband, Bill, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Joy Beemer, and her husband, Dennie, Gravity, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 11:00 am, Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Elmo Christian Church.
Interment: Maple Hill Cemetery, College Springs, Iowa.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 10:50 am at the Elmo Christian Church.
