Delmar Lee Schebaum, son of Harold Schebaum and Sylvia (Neff) Schebaum, was born December 6, 1937, in Richwood, Missouri. Delmar was the oldest of ten children, and had attended school at Bay, Missouri, until the eighth grade, but left to help support the family.

On November 26, 1961, Delmar was united in marriage to Karen Appling, and they became the parents of Wendy, Tammy, Delmar, Mary, Kristina and one son from Delmar’s previous marriage, Robert.

Delmar had several jobs over his life-span such as working in the mines, logging camps, construction, and milling, all being in southern Missouri. Delmar finally settled on farming after moving to northern Missouri. Delmar and his family made their home in rural Westboro, Missouri. Following his retirement from Morning Sun Seeds, Westboro, they moved into Westboro. Delmar was a hardworking man, working from sun-up to sunset. Delmar had many hobbies; fishing, showing chickens and rabbits, and hunting which was his favorite. He did not hunt just for trophy, but for food. He was a marksman always hitting his target on the first shot. His love of animals was apparent in his show chickens; normally bringing home a champion or a grand champion of the show. Delmar loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Delmar passed away on January 16, 2013, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, Missouri, at the age of 75.

Delmar was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Sylvia Schebaum, brother, Donald Schebaum, father and mother-in-law, William and Leona Appling, brother-in-law, William “Bill” Appling, and son-in-law, George Simmons.
