Delores Fletcher
1936 – 2016
Tarkio, Missouri

 

Delores Fletcher, the daughter of H.O. and Lucille Velour (Green) Bowen, was born July 23, 1936, in Corning, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, Rock Port, Missouri, graduating in 1954.

 

On December 24, 1954, Delores was united in marriage to Eugene T. Fletcher. They made their home in the Atchison County, Missouri, area and became the parents of four children, Jeannie, Cathy, Jackie and Scott. They later divorced.

 

Delores was a devoted mother, staying home to raise and care for her four children. She was also employed answering phones for the Tarkio Police Department, Warner Cable Company and Davis Funeral Home. For a short time, Delores worked for Ted Harmon Insurance in Rock Port.

 

Delores was a member of the Tarkio Garden Club and attended Tarkio Baptist and Tarkio Presbyterian Churches. She enjoyed embroidering shirts and samplers for her family. Delores was very knowledgeable about jewelry and precious stones and would accessorize from her collection. She was a positive person that was well cared for by Pleasant View Nursing Home and loved her Pleasant View family. Delores passed away Friday, October 7, 2016, at Community Hospital- Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 80.

 

Delores was preceded in death by parents, H.O. and Dorothy Bowen and Lucille (Green) Watton; grandson, Sam Fletcher; and son-in-law, Robert Muller. Survivors include four children, Jeannie Muller, Smithville, Missouri, Cathy Dennis and husband, Boyd, Jackie Aeschliman and husband, Alan, and Scott Fletcher and wife, Debbie, all of Tarkio, Missouri; six grandchildren, Laura Larriva, Lacey McIsaac, Lindsey Stephens, Corey Whitaker, Andrew Aeschliman and Seth Fletcher; eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Gabriel, Eli, Camille, John, Clare, Ruby and Angelina; sister, Lillian McGuire, Bermingham, Alabama; friend, Ernest Greene, Rock Port; and numerous cousins.

 

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 13, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Interment: Grange Hall Cemetery, Rock Port
Open visitation begins 9:00 AM, Wednesday, Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
