Delores J. Morehouse
1931-2015
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Delores J. Morehouse, the daughter of William and Mary (Heine) Thurnau, was born March 31, 1931, in Craig, Missouri. She attended Holt county rural schools and Craig High School, graduating in 1949.

 

In 1953, Delores moved to Tarkio, where she was employed with St. Joseph Light and Power as a bill collector. On September 6, 1959, Delores was united in marriage to Larry Morehouse at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Craig. They made their home in Tarkio their entire married life and became the parents of two sons, Timothy and Scott. Delores worked for St. Joseph Light and Power from 1950 to 1959, after that she stayed at home raising and taking care of her children. Larry passed away July 6, 2008.

 

Delores was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Craig. Delores passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 84.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by two brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include two sons, Timothy A. Morehouse and wife, Teresa, and Scott A. Morehouse, all of Tarkio; sister, Marilyn Robbins and husband, Gailen, Craig; sisters-in-law, Wilma Thurnau, Craig, and Dorothy Thurnau, Mound City, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside Service and Interment: 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 24, 2015, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Home Cemetery, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mound City or Alzheimer’s Association.
