Deloris Marie Shaw, the daughter of Floyd and Georgia (Conover) Shiveley, was born December 25, 1937 in Shubert, Nebraska. She was one of six children born to this union.

 

On May 4, 1957, Deloris was united in marriage to Everett Reed Shaw and became parents of Rick, Brenda, Mary, Albert, and Barton. Everett passed away on March 21, 2011.

 

Deloris was employed as a cook and teacher at Head Start and Senior Center, Rock Port, Missouri. She also worked for many years as a Fabricator at Missouri Beef Packers, Phelps City, Missouri.

 

Deloris was an exceptional cook. She was well-known for her noodles, pies, and cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and watching Western movies. Deloris especially loved spending time with her family. Deloris passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 84.

 

Besides her parents and husband, Everett Shaw, Deloris was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law, Brenda (Steve) Shaw; granddaughter, Jennifer Elayne Shaw; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (John) Sierks, Lois (Ivan) Keene, and Betty (Donald “Bud”) McMann, and brother-in-law, Charles “Duroc” Moore. Survivors include children, Rick (Lori) Shaw, Mary (James Phillips) Rouse, Albert Shaw, and Barton Shaw; son-in-law, Fred Rouse; grandchildren Mandy (Terry) Rasco, Amber Shaw, Kara Smith, and Andrew (Ashleigh) Rouse; great-grandchildren Calder, Caitlynn and Conner Rasco, Shayleigh, Haidee, and Mavarick Smith, and Katelynn, Michelle, and Emma Rouse; sister, Esther Moore, brother, Donald “Buckshot” (Georgia “Sam”) Shiveley; many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 15, 2022, First Christian Church, Rock Port.

Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 14, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M., Thursday, prior to the service.

Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Rock Port.

Memorials: Elmwood Cemetery or Senior Center, Rock Port.

Arrangements: Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
