Donald C. Adams
1928 – 2015
Fairfax, Missouri

Donald C Adams, the son of Rolla and Ivoree (Knizley) Adams, was born February 27, 1928 in Tarkio, Missouri. Don attended numerous country schools in the Atchison County area, graduating from Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri, in 1946.

On February 4, 1951, Don was united in marriage to Shirley Deatz at the Methodist Church in Rock Port, Missouri, and they became the parents of three children, Mark, Lynn and Reese.

Don farmed for a few years, then was employed by the Fairfax Implement Co. as a tractor and combine mechanic. He regularly diagnosed engine problems simply by having the farmer describe the symptoms over the phone. He later drove a truck for Jim Smith.

Don was a long time member and elder of the English Grove Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church, both of Fairfax. For many years both he and Shirley worked as custodian of First Presbyterian. Don passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015, at his home in Fairfax at the age of 87.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by brother, Raymond Adams and sister, Lucile Adams. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Mark Adams and his wife, Sherry, Lynn J. Adams, all of Fairfax, Reese Adams and his wife, Rebecca, Rock Port, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeff Buhrmann and his wife, Jill, Littleton, Colorado, Bryan Adams and his wife, Tisha, Rock Port, Devin Adams, Fairfax, and Juleighanne Adams, Rock Port; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Buhrmann and Cole Hurst; sisters, Anna Wolf and Martha Smith and her husband, Bill, all of Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.
