Donald J. Larson
1946 – 2016
Rock Port, Missouri

 

Donald James Larson, the son of Keith and Hilda (Sharp) Larson, was born September 3, 1946, in Hamburg, Iowa. He attended and graduated from Watson High School, Watson, Missouri. Donald entered the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He received his honorable discharge January 19, 1968.

 

On October 30, 1970, Donald was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Morrison in Hamburg, Iowa. They made their home in Watson and became the parents of 4 children, Randall, Robert, Lisa and Derek. In 2014, they moved to the Fair Oaks Senior Housing in Rock Port, Missouri, where they lived to the present time.

 

From 1968-1970, Donald worked for Roy Case Farming. From 1971-1975, he worked for the United States Post Office in Hamburg, Iowa. From 1975-1985, Donald worked for Stanton Grain Company in Rock Port. From 1985 to April 2001, Donald was employed by Rock Port School as a bus driver and custodian.

 

Donald was a member of the Watson United Methodist Church. Donald passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Bryan LGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 69.

 

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and Drew Larson; and sister, Dixie Clark. Survivors include wife, Patricia Larson, Rock Port; children, Randall Larson, Omaha, Nebraska, Robert Larson and Lisa Larson, both of Hamburg, Iowa, and Derek Larson, Rock Port; five grandchildren, Ty, Kayleigh, Jace, Brynn, and Jakleigh; sister, Danna Cowden, Riverton, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 2, 2016, Rock Port United Methodist Church, Rock Port, Missouri.
Interment: High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri
Open visitation begins 9:00 A.M., Friday, July 1, 2016, Minter Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
