Donna L. Howell, the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Emery) Bredensteiner, was born April 14, 1930 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Donna attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1947. Donna then attended Tarkio College, Tarkio for two years.

On September 15, 1951, Donna was united in marriage to John C. Howell in Rock Port, Missouri. They became the parents of one daughter, Lisa and made their home on the Howell family farm, a farm that has been in the family since 1869.

Donna was a homemaker and a stay at home mom.

Donna was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church, Tarkio and United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Tarkio Eastern Star Walnut Chapter and Fairfax Eastern Star Chapter #373 where she served in many capacities including Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Allen Schiffern American Legion Auxiliary, Tarkio, and many other volunteer civic activities. Donna loved shopping, dancing, reading, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. John passed away January 10, 2015. Donna passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at her home in Tarkio, at the age of 90.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents and husband John Howell. Survivors include daughter, Lisa Peterson (Brian Smith), Tarkio; grandchildren, Richard (Ashley) Bolton, Oak Grove, Missouri, Veronica Bolton, Overland Park, Kansas, Nakita Peterson, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Lauren (Brian) Frost, California; great grandchildren, Sloan, Leah, Asher, Ryder, Maverik, and Zaiden; special family member, Brian Peterson (Christina Hudson), Tarkio.

Family Visitation: 4:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, January 3, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

Interment: Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri.

Memorials: Center Grove Cemetery or Atchison County Library.
